Here at Mercy Grace, one of our popular chemical peels is our Retexturizing Brillance Peel! This chemical peel session includes dermaplaning followed by Obagi Medical’s Blue Peel Radiance, then finishing the session with the topical application of corrective products that are best suited for your skin and skincare goals. Blue Peel Radiance is a salicylic acid-based chemical peel that exfoliates and helps improve your overall complexion. What is the end result? Smoother, firmer, and brighter-looking skin!
Obagi’s Blue Peel Radiance contains a mixture of Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Willow Bark, and Licorice Root. Salicylic is a BHA or Beta-Hydroxy Acid that is oil-soluble and can penetrate deep into the skin. Salicylic Acid dissolves the skin debris that clogs pores which makes it especially great for acne and blackheads but is also a great exfoliant. It also contains Glycolic Acid, which is a water-soluble AHA or Alpha-Hydroxyl Acid, which is an excellent exfoliant and great for smoothing acne scars and lightening discoloration. Lactic Acid is a gentle AHA excellent for smoothing rough skin. Willow Bark Extract helps calm the skin during the peel, cleans the pores, and reduces excess oil. The Licorice Root helps reduce inflammation in the skin as well as reduce hyperpigmentation and fine lines, and wrinkles.

How does it work?
After the dermaplaning procedure, the skin is cleansed, and a prep solution is applied. This peel was a max of 2 layers that can be applied. Once the chemical peel is on the skin, you will begin to feel a tingling and spicy sensation after about 10 minutes. The peel is removed, and corrective products best determined by you and your aesthetician are applied, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen. After the peel for the following couple of days, you may experience mildly dry, red, and flaky skin. But after that, you will see a noticeable difference in your skin! Overall, your skin will look much brighter, smoother, and younger!
Yes! You do see a difference after just one peel. But if you want to see continued improvement, it is best to do a series of peels. Ideally, you want to do 3-6 peels spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
