What are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are an injection that contains botulinum toxin to help relax wrinkles. You probably know this as Botox, Xeomin, Dsyport and Jeuveau.
How do they work?
-How it works is the neuromodulator solution is injected into the underlying muscle then over the next 2-5 days you will see it start to take effect. It will help prevent the facial muscle in that area from contracting when we laugh, smile and raise our eyebrows that cause deep lines to form. Thus, making your skin look smoother and younger. Injections always sound scary, but luckily the needle used is pretty small so you just barely feel a little pinch if even anything at all. There can be some side effects such as redness, swelling and pain at the injection site but these generally subside in the couple hours or days. On average it usually takes about 30-60 units to get to the desired result but of course this depends on the person.
Why is it important for you?
Life is busy, and neuromodulators are a quick and easy solution to help with fine lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators are also relatively low maintenance allowing you to go 3-5 months in-between injections. The procedure itself is pretty quick, it usually takes about an hour then you can return to your daily activities. You do want to avoid exercising for the first 24 hours.
